Armored Pendant (ARM_N_002)

Armored Pendant in Silver (925) with a leather cord.
First run in the 65th Olympic Games in 520 BC, the runner ran wearing bronze defensive armor (helmet, graves and shield). The distance of the armored footrace was 2 to 4 stades. The artilleryman footrace is considered as a memorial race to honor dead heroes. It is also reported that apart from the Olympic Games, the armored race was run in Nemea, Pythia, Isthmia, Panathinaea and in other feasts. Pafsanias reports that in Olympia, there were the 25 bronze shields kept in the temple of Zeus, which were shared at oplitodroms for the performance of the Games.
